Welcome to the Blessed Sex course, a practical and spiritual guide to sex and intimacy for Blessed Couples. We’re so glad you’ve made the choice to invest in this very important aspect of your marriage, your sexual relationship!
Through taking this course, we hope that your couple will be inspired with a hopeful vision for your sexual relationship, empowered to discuss your hopes and desires for your sexual relationship, and equipped with tools and information to work towards manifesting the sexual relationship you desire.
Before we get started with the content, we’d like to take a moment to introduce ourselves and the course.
We, Leighton and Crescentia, have been Blessed in marriage since October 2010, and have four children, with our first daughter born Nov 2014, and our last daughter June 2022. We have been core staff of the Blessed Marriage Project since its inception in 2013.
Previously Crescentia was the Director of the National Blessing and Family Ministry of FFWPU for 6 years, and the District Pastor of District 3 and local pastor of the Clifton Family Church for 2.5 years. Leighton and Crescentia currently serve as Matching Supporters. Crescentia works part-time as a relationship coach and Leighton works as a Lead Software Engineer at Ensono.
Empowering couples to enjoy loving and fulfilling marriages is definitely our passion. And supporting healthy sexual relationships is an essential component of this. We’ve been exploring the topic of sexuality in our own marriage, and also through ministering to hundreds of individuals and couples over the years. Whatever we guide others to do, we try to implement in our own marriage.
Which has not always been easy to do, but has been a tremendous blessing for our relationship. It’s allowed our couple to enjoy a fun and passionate sex life that has been developing and improving over the course of our marriage. Like any couple, our relationship is not perfect, and we’re constantly growing as individuals and as a couple. Learning from each other along the way.
The content of this course is drawn primarily from our life experiences, and lessons learned from the work we’ve done to educate and support other individuals and couples within the Unification community. It also incorporates the wisdom gained from our personal study of Unification scriptures, and works written by Unificationists on the topic of sexuality and marriage, as well as research we’ve conducted from secular and other religious sources.
Throughout the presentations in this course we share and explore True Parents words’ regarding the relationship between husband and wife, sexuality, and living a Principled life. We also feature insights from other Unificationists, and offer facts and information from contemporary sex experts and therapists on the topics. This course was curated by us with your couple in mind.
As such, we offer our interpretation of the scriptures and materials covered, and share it in a way we feel will be most applicable for your couple. However, if something does not resonate with or is not applicable to you, please feel free to temporarily put it aside, and remain open to what comes next in the presentations. We encourage you to further explore anything presented that you want to learn more about, and come to your own conclusions.
Though we cannot claim to be experts on this topic, we are confident that our life experiences and lessons learned from working with individuals and couples can give you inspiration and support you in fulfilling your hopes and dreams for your couple’s sexual relationship. That being said, our guidance should not be a replacement for professional advice or care. Be sure to seek out professional help if needed.
There are five presentations in this course: The Gift of Sexual Love, Playing Together Sexually, Loving Her Sexually, Loving Him Sexually and For the Love of God. Each presentation is approximately 20-30 minutes in length. A handout with all the slides and notes can be downloaded as an additional visual aid.
To get the most value from this course, we recommend watching each video together as a couple, and then reflecting on and discussing the questions provided immediately after. If it’s not possible to watch the videos together at the same time, each spouse could watch them separately, and then find a convenient time to discuss the content together.
We also strongly encourage you to try out the activities provided with each lesson. It might not be possible or necessary for your couple to complete all the activities, but we encourage you to challenge yourself to give them a try if you feel they will be beneficial for your couple. All resources mentioned in the presentations can be found in the Additional Resources section, and direct links for accessing the content are provided when possible.
